Incredible Places: Yosemite National Park, CA

Yosemite National Park is probably the most amazing place I have ever been to. Last week I posted pictures from Mariposa Grove in Yosemite.  This week I would like to share with you some other pictures that we took while visiting beautiful national park.

We stayed at Camp Curry. Originally I had booked a hotel room at a small hotel right outside the park since nothing was available in our price range inside the park and I did not want to camp.  Tents and I do not mix. I need my own bathroom and shower.   A few days before we were scheduled to arrive in the park my husband called the Yosemite Booking service and magically there was a cancellation in Camp Curry's tiny little motel called the Stoneman House. (A list of their lodgings here. )There are very few of these rooms available so we jumped on it.  I loved it because it was like the camping experiences with a real bed and a bathroom.
While driving around this huge park we stumbled upon this scenic vista named Tunnel View.
The views were unbelievable.
More amazingness from Tunnel View.
Loved this lamp in dinning room of the Wawona Hotel.
Incredible views seem to be everywhere you look in Yosemite.  Glacier Point was my favorite spot for breathtaking views of Half Dome. That is the name of the huge granite mountain on the right in the picture below.
Gorgeous Waterfall Views.
Amazing Panoramas that are more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.
How amazing are these clouds?

The Ahwahnee Lodge where I dream about staying on my return.

Early morning splendor we experienced on our ride out of Yosemite.

Yosemite National Park was just one of those places that touched me so deeply.  It was unlike anything I have ever experienced, as corny as it sounds I do feel that it profoundly changed me as a person and I am so glad that it has been made a park and preserved for future generations to enjoy.

  1. This looks so stunningly gorgeous! I am a big fan of camping, but I also like the idea of there being little motels inside the park. It seems like you get the best of both worlds that way.

I would love to visit Yosemite someday - and your pictures make me want to go just that much more!

  3. Wow these pictures are lovely! What an amazing place. I actually went to Yosemite but a looong time ago when I was younger. Definitely need to revisit and stay in one of these spots, I'm also not the biggest fan of camping! x

  5. I haven't been to Yosemite yet (and I really want to go!), but I have the same feelings about Glacier! It stole my heart forever and I keep going back there again and again, even after visiting other national parks. It looks very much like Yosemite in these photos but covered in snow more :-)
